Balenciagass

Balenciaga and other high fashion brands are intriguing to me in the sense that a logo or presence of a brand essentially plays a role as a material, in the same sense that thread and fabric is a material. The idea that something which is virtually non-valuable can be combined with a logo to make something much, much, more valuable; and while fabric and thread prior to being constructed into a garment manifests practically no value, the logo itself manifests high value independently because it stands as a symbol of value acquired by the company over time.

With this poster I wanted to play on that idea of applying value to a generally value-less object (an ass) with a brand name (Balenciaga) resulting in something which humorously seems to remain valueless.
